Eligibility Criteria

To avail this scheme, you have to fulfil the given eligibility criteria as follows-

  • Both the applying parties must be of Hindu, Buddhist, Sikh or Jainism.
  • At the time of marriage, no political party should have a spouse.
  • Both parties should be of sound mind, capable of giving valid consent, fit for marriage and procuring a child.
  • The applying man should have completed 21 years of age, and the applying woman should have completed 18 years of age at the time of marriage.
  • The parties should not fall within the degree of the prohibited relationship, unless the custom or usage governing each of them permits marriage between the two.
