Union Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Thawar Chand Gehlot has launched the National Portal for Transgender Persons through which transgenders will be able to upload affidavits announcing their genders. After this, they will be issued an identity certificate on behalf of the District Magistrate. Through the Transgender Registration portal, applicants will be able to know the status of their application and this will bring transparency in the whole process.
