The Andhra Pradesh government has launched several schemes under the leadership of Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy. In this series, the state government has formally launched the YSR Sunna Vaddi Scheme with an aim to provide financial assistance to poor women in the state.
Under this scheme, the Andhra Pradesh government will work with self-help groups to make poor women self-reliant in the state. Women will be provided better opportunities to earn their livelihood by enabling them in handicrafts or other types of production activities.
Along with this, the beneficiary women will be able to get loans from banks at zero interest rates for the expansion of business activities. With the introduction of this scheme by the Andhra Pradesh government, all permanent women living in the state can avail of the scheme.
Objective of the Scheme
The main objective of this scheme is to support the development of self-working women in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The government has provided loans at zero interest rates so that women who get loans under the scheme do not have to pay extra interest on the loan. The biggest benefit of the YSR Sunna Vaddi Scheme is that it will provide an opportunity for the elderly women of the state of Andhra Pradesh to become empowered.
