The Assam government has launched Arundhati Swarna Yojana with an aim to encourage newly married couples in the state to register for marriage. Under this scheme, the Government of Assam will provide 10 grams of gold as a gift to newly married couples in the state upon registering their marriage. About 50% of marriages are not officially registered in India, so the couple does not have official marriage documents. In this situation, the fraud possible increases significantly.
To address all these problems, the introduction of Assam Arundhati Swarna Yojana has been offered by the Chief Minister of Assam. In this scheme, the state government will work to encourage couples to register their marriages. Along with this, 10 grams of gold will also be made available as a gift to the newly married couple.

Arundhati Swarna Yojana has been launched by the Government of Assam with the objective of achieving the goal of 100% marriage registration in the state. Eligibility Criteria
If you are already tied inauspicious marriage for some time, then you can avail of this scheme as per the eligibility criteria given.
- Only permanent newly married couple of Assam is eligible to avail of this scheme.
- Under this scheme, an amount equal to 10 grams of gold received as a gift to the couple will be directly transferred to the bride’s bank account.
- The bride who has passed at least the 10th V examination is eligible to avail of this scheme.
- With this, the income from all the sources of the bride’s family should be less than Rs 5 lakh.
- The bride and groom can avail of Arundhati Suvarna Yojana only on their first marriage.
- The scheme can be availed only if the marriage of a newly married couple is registered under the Special Marriage Act 1954.
- In a married couple, the groom must be over 21 years of age and the bride must be over 18.
