About 1.5 lakh elderly persons from the state of Maharashtra would benefit from the scheme by riding for free on MSRTC buses. These buses will exclusively operate in the state of Maharashtra. People who are above 70 years old are welcome to ride these buses for free. In honour of the nation’s 75th anniversary of independence, the Maharashtra government has taken action to assist senior persons. Before COVID 19 in March 2020
the more than 16,000 buses owned by the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation would carry about 65 lakh people daily. Due to their high standards of upkeep and cleanliness, MSRTC buses enjoy the best reputation in the state of Maharashtra.
