Magalir Urimai Thogai Scheme 2nd Installment :- Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Shri MK Stalin stated that his administration would start a financial assistance program for Tamil Nadu State women. Nearly 1 million women in Tamil Nadu will benefit from the State Government’s Universal Basic Income Program.The Magalir Urimai Thogai Scheme which was recently introduced by the government of Tamil Nadu will provide assistance of Rs. 1000/- per month, has been given a budget of Rs. 7000 Crore by the Tamil Nadu government.

Magalir Urimai Thogai Scheme 2nd Installment
The Tamil Nadu state government launched a social welfare initiative “Magalir Urimai Thogai” on September 15, 2023. This scheme is aimed at providing monthly financial assistance of Rs. 1,000/- to more than 1 crore eligible women family heads. Along with financial supports to women, the scheme also pays tribute to the legacy of former Chief Minister C.N. Annadurai, as it coincides with his birth anniversary. The financial assistance amount will be sent directly to the bank account of the beneficiary through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) which will reduce the chances of corruption. The government has already released the 1st installment on 15th September 2023 and 2nd installment was released on 15 October, 2023.

Objectives of Magalir Urimai Thogai Scheme 2nd Installment
- This scheme is aimed at providing monthly financial assistance of Rs. 1000/- per month to more than 1 crore eligible women family heads.
- The primary objective of the Scheme is to empower women by providing financial assistance to cover their household expenses, encouraging economic self-sufficiency and gender equality.
