A state specific welfare programme called the Nagaland CM Health Insurance Scheme ensures that residents of that state will have greater access to healthcare services than they have ever had. It also gives the state’s private hospitals the opportunity to treat patients and get assured payment. Ayushman Bharat accredited facilities can provide medical attention to CMHIS EP beneficiaries and CMHIS General users throughout India. For the program’s first year the government would pay a premium of Rs 69 crore to the insurance partner, The Oriental Insurance Company Ltd.
After the CMHIS is implemented Nagaland will have universal health coverage bringing India one step closer to achieving its Sustainable Development Goal of guaranteeing everyone has access to healthcare. Around 12,000 hospitalisations were recorded on the NHA IT platform at the time the CMHIS programme was introduced. This system is scalable and dependable and it can record millions of healthcare system operations. The CMHIS programme would cover all residents of the State and will give insurance benefits beyond those offered by the Prime Minister’s Ayushman Bharat programme.

- Each Benefactor Family Unit control plan will include coverage for the price of pre and post-hospitalization care as well as hospitalisation and pharmaceutical expenditures.
- It includes therapy for medical conditions requiring secondary and tertiary levels of medical and surgical care in addition to specific nursery treatments and follow up care.
- A risk cover insurance sum of Rs. 5,00,000 per household per year is required for each CMHIS BFU.
