It was told by the officials that under this JAY SEHAT Health Insurance scheme, 21 lakh eligible people will be benefited on the basis of socio-economic and caste census 2011. He also stated that beneficiaries will also be given universal health care coverage according to the SECC 2011 database. The benefit of this scheme will be given to all the citizens of Jammu and Kashmir, so that the people of the state can be kept healthy.

SEHAT Scheme Linked with PMJAY

The benefit of Ayushman Jan Arogya Yojana was provided to about 600,000 families in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. But still, there were about 2100000 families of Jammu and Kashmir who were not included in 6 Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Jan Arogya Yojana, now all those people will be covered under Health Health Insurance Scheme. We can also say that this is a health insurance scheme that is fully associated with Ayushman Jan Arogya Yojana. Talking about the specialty, every citizen of the state of Jammu and Kashmir can provide the benefit of a health insurance scheme irrespective of their financial status.

The government will incur expenses up to Rs 5 lakh under the Health Insurance Scheme. Registration of 229 government hospitals and 35 private hospitals in Jammu and Kashmir will be done under this scheme, where treatment will be done under this scheme.

To avail health services through the SEHAT Health Card, the government is collecting details of beneficiary families, details which have disappeared from the SECC 2011 database. The government is engaged in ensuring that the benefit of free services can be extended to the beneficiaries by joining the list as soon as possible. The scheme is also known as JAY SEHAT Health Insurance scheme and the scheme will provide health benefits to 21 lakh people living in the state.

Healthcare Sector Development

The healthcare sector of Jammu and Kashmir will also be developed through successful implementation of SEHAT Health Insurance Scheme and citizens of Jammu and Kashmir are not required to move to other cities for their treatment. But if they want to go to other cities for treatment, then the citizens of Jammu and Kashmir can go to any hospital in the country registered under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, they will get free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh. To avail free treatment, the beneficiaries will have to show an e-card in the hospital. E-card will be providing to all beneficiaries after registration. In Jammu and Kashmir, 1100 health and wellness centres will be opened out of these 1100 health centres and work on 800 centres has been started.

Sehat Health Scheme Launched on 26th December

On 26 December 2020 for the entire population of Jammu and Kashmir, Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched SEHAT Health Insurance Scheme through video conferencing. In this video, Honorable Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Mr. Manoj Sinha, Home Minister Amit Shah and other important dignitaries were present. In this conference, the Prime Minister announced the PMJAY SEHAT Health Plan. And he has spoken directly with the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana. E-cards were also distributed to the beneficiaries under the Health Health Insurance Scheme. Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also discussed the benefits of SEHAT scheme.

SEHAT Card

SEHAT cards will be distributed to all beneficiaries under this scheme. To avail this scheme, beneficiaries are required to show these SEHAT cards in the hospital. Eligible beneficiaries can apply for the scheme through Common Service Center Operators. All beneficiaries must carry a SEHAT card with them at all times.

Objective of Jammu And Kashmir SEHAT Health Insurance Scheme

We know that there are many citizens or families in our country, whose economic condition is poor, they are not able to buy medicines for a sick person. In such a situation the person is likely to die and the family members have to face difficulties. In view of this problem, PMJAY-SEHAT has been started by the Central Government for the residents of Jammu and Kashmir.

The main objective of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Health Scheme (PMJAY-SEHAT) is that free health care will be provided to the citizens of Jammu and Kashmir. Free medicines will be provided to the citizens of the state through this scheme. All the citizens of the state can take advantage of this scheme launched by the central government. Financially weaker citizens will benefit more through this scheme.

Implementation of SEHAT Health Insurance Scheme

To complete the database of residents of Jammu and Kashmir, the Central Government has constituted a committee which is missing from the Socio-Economic Caste Census 2011 to implement the Jammu and Kashmir Health Health Insurance Scheme. Under this scheme of about 1 crore, the beneficiaries of Jammu and Kashmir region will be covered. This has been made possible by the repeal of Section 3 by 0 in Jammu and Kashmir.

If a person is already hospitalized, the government will bear the cost of living for 3 days and the cost of medicines. With this, if a person has a diagnosis even after 15 days of recruitment or has to buy any kind of medicines, then his entire cost will also come under this scheme. Under PMJAY-SEHAT, Prime Minister Modi has made a statement that people registered under this scheme will get treatment in 24,148 hospitals present across India. He has also stated that during the treatment of any type of illness, financial assistance of 5 lakh will be given to the family which can include any member of the family.
