PM eVIDYA has been launched under the One Nation One Digital Platform to reduce the loss of education of children in times of coronavirus infection. On the day of Sunday, the PM eVidya program has been announced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. The PM eVidya Program has been announced for the top 100 universities and schools also in the country. Under this program, online education courses will be allowed to start from May 30, 2020. Sitharaman has announced a Swayam Prabha DTH channel to support students who do not have access to the internet and are thus hampering their education. PM eVidya Program – One Nation One Digital Platform

Online education is being introduced in the top 100 universities of the country after 30 May 2020. Since not everyone in India has access to the Internet even today, Sitharaman has announced the Swayam Prabha DTH channel. A program for multi-mode access, for digital/online education, under the PM eVidya program will also be started in this channel. With this, the government is also ready to launch 12 more such channels. The PM eVidya program will include ‘Diksha’ an e-content and QR coded energetic book with initiation for all classes and will be called ‘One Nation One Digital Platform’.

  • A TV channel named 12th One Class, One Channel ‘will also be launched for the first to 12th grades.
  • The government has also decided to make radio podcasts and special e-content for visually impaired and hearing-impaired students.
  • The government will do all these efforts to ensure that there is no impact on the education of the student due to the nationwide lockdown.

  • The e-school will include 200 new textbooks.
