Jnanabhumi Scholarship 2023
The Social Welfare Department under the Government of Andhra Pradesh launched this scholarship to help the poor students of the state. Under this scheme, the students pursuing both pre-matric education and post-matric education are eligible to apply. The eligibility conditions, rewards, application procedure, etc., vary according to the level of education a student is pursuing. This scholarship is open to the students belonging to Backward Class, Economically Backward Class, and Disabled categories.

Types of Scholarship
The Government offers two types of scholarship under Jnanabhumi Scholarship:
- Pre-matric Scholarship
- Post-matric Scholarship
Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria are different for each and every scholarship and the students who fulfill these criteria are eligible to apply for them. The Jnanabhumi Scholarship includes both pre-matric scholarship and post-matric scholarship. The eligibility requirements of for these scholarships differ from each other. So, the students are advised to check these eligibility conditions carefully before they start the application process.
Pre-matric Scholarship
- The applicants must belong to ST/SC/BC/Disabled category.
- The applicants belonging to ST/SC/Disabled category who are studying in class 5th to 10th are eligible to apply.
- The applicants belonging to BC category who are studying in class 9th or 10th are eligible to apply.
Post-matric Scholarship
- The students who are studying in college with a hostel or departmental hostel are eligible.
- The students pursuing ITI/Polytechnic/Degree/above courses from a government/government-aided/private college recognized by government institutions can apply.
- The applicant must have secured minimum 75% attendance in the previous year.
- Any member of the applicant’s family shouldn’t be a government employee or pensioner (Except sanitary workers).
- The applicant’s family should have land holding less than or equals to 10 acres wet land/ 25 acres’ dry land/25 acres of both.
- The family of the applicant must not have any four wheelers.
- The family annual income of the candidate should be less than Rs.2.5 Lakhs.
- None of the member of applicant’s family should be taxpayers.

Jnanabhumi Scholarship- Ineligibility for Post-matric scholarship
The students who fit into any of the following categories are not eligible to apply under this scholarship.
- The students pursuing their higher education from private or deemed university.
- The students who get admission in college in management or sports quota.
- The students who are pursuing education through distance learning or correspondence.

Jnanabhumi Scholarship – Application Procedure
The students who are willing to apply for scholarship can follow the application procedures given below. The application procedure for both pre-matric scholarship and post-matric scholarship are differ from each other. For pre-matric scholarship the complete process is done through online mode whereas, for post-matric scholarship the forms must be submitted in the Principal’s office and then they further submit the form through official website after verification.
Pre-matric
- First of all, visit the official website of Jnanabhumi. The homepage of the website will appear on your screen.
- On the homepage, click on the “Pre-Matric Scholarship” option.
- Then, click on the “How to Apply” option and read all the given instructions.
- Click on the application link given there.
- An application page will appear on your screen, fill the application form with all the necessary details.
- Attach all the required documents.
- Click on the “Submit” option to complete the application procedure.
- Once all the applications are done, the concerned Hostel Welfare Officer will go through all the applications and confirm the selected ones.
- As soon as the confirmation is done the scholarship amount is then sanctioned for the rightful candidates.
Post-matric

- Download the Jnanabhumi Scholarship Application Form (JSAF) or collect the form from your respective college.

- Submit a signed copy of the application form to the Principal’s office.
- The Principal will then submit the form through Jnanabhumi official website.
- Once, the submission is done you will receive a confirmation text on your registered mobile number.
- Now, visit the Mee Seva portal and submit your application number, biometric authentication, and Aadhar number.
- The selected students will receive the scholarship in their accounts through DBT.
