Punjab Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana
Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana was announced by the Chief Minister of Punjab. The main motive behind implementing this scheme is to provide free treatment to the citizens of Punjab state. This cashless treatment is for the poor people of the state, So that they can go to the hospital for their check-ups and get the surgery done without any financial worries. Apart from this, an annual incentive is also provided under this scheme.
Free Covid-19 Treatment under Punjab Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana
On 25 May 2021, Punjab Health Minister Shri Balbir Singh Sandhu announced that the COVID-19 patients covered under Punjab Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana will be provided free treatment in Empaneled Private Hospitals. It was informed by the Health Minister that the facility of treatment of Covid-19 will be provided in the hospitals where the treatment of Covid-19 is done at the rate of Rs 8000 to Rs 18000 per day. It was announced by the Minister that the State Government would cover the entire differential treatment cost to be received by deducting the cost payable by the insurance company. Under this facility, beds, PPE kits, medicines, consumables, doctor’s fees, oxygen etc. are included.
12702 Patients Gets Benefit of Scheme
We all know that Punjab Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana has been started by the Punjab Government to provide health facilities to the needy families of Punjab, under which cashless treatment will be provided to the needy people. During a meeting by DC Kulwant Singh ji, it was told that under this scheme, e-cards of 235346 beneficiaries have been made in the district so far. And free treatment facility has been provided to about 12702 beneficiaries. During the meeting, he also told that the needy people can easily get the treatment of serious diseases including cancer surgery neuro surgery done under this scheme. Apart from the needy people, Counselor Sarpanch Asha Worker Anganwadi Workers will also be provided 18 facilities under this scheme for which they can contact us.
- Around 12 government hospitals of the district are included in this Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana which includes civil Hospital Tarn Taran, Patti, Khadoor Sahib, Sarhali, Kasel, Kairon, Jhabbal, Ghariala, Khem Karan, Meianwind, Naushehra Pannu, community health centre Sursingh.
- Around 10 private hospitals of the district are also included in this scheme which includes Khara Hospital Valtoha, Sandhu surgical Hospital Patti, Sartaj Hospital Harike, Rana Hospital Khalda, Vijay Dhawan Hospital Bhikhiwind, Sandhu Hospital Hospital Bhikhiwind, Simran Hospital Bhikhiwind, Anand Hospital Bhikhiwind, Baba Bidhi Chand Hospital Patti, Dukh Nivaran Hospital Goindwal Sahib.

Benefits of Sarbat Seva Bima Scheme
- To avail annual cashless treatment up to ₹ 5 lakh per family per year, including pre-existing diseases, the beneficiaries were to ensure the best possible treatment to the beneficiaries for free.
- The scheme will ensure cashless medical treatment benefits of up to Rs 5 lakh for 1,396 different diseases. The diseases covered include cardiac surgery, cancer treatment, joint replacement procedure and treatment in emergent cases.
- There are 1396 packages for cashless secondary care and tertiary care treatment in government and private hospitals in Punjab and Chandigarh.

8 Mobile Teams to Make E-Cards
As you all know that under Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana beneficiary, up to Rs 500000 per year can be treated in 200 government and 767 private hospitals. A meeting was held by Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Hans on 6 February 2021 with officials of the Civil Supplies Department, Labor Department, Punjab Mandi Board Excise Department and Taxation Department. - It was also decided in this meeting that the benefit of Sarbat Seva Bima Yojana 2021 will be provided to blue card holders, J Farms, small traders and journalists.

- The state government has launched this scheme on Rajiv Gandhi’s birth anniversary on August 20, 2019.
- A total of 9.5 lakh farmers will now be covered with effect from August 20, according to the release.
